Diane Dayton: Maysa Interview
It’s always a pleasure to chat with Maysa and to hear her perform! She is at the BJF22 as a part of the Chris “Big Dog” Davis Presents “Celebrating the Women in Jazz” on Saturday, April 9 and at “Nick Colionne’s Friends: A Salute to Nico,” Sunday brunch on April 10.
Maysa reflects on her long relationship with Nick and the meaning of this show. She talks about her Sunday Night Kitchen Karaoke on Facebook Live, and the ongoing issue of “I really am Maysa and this is my music!”  We both feel that Berks Jazz Fest is like coming home to a big family reunion.

Diane Dayton: Karen Briggs Interview
I love catching up with amazing violinist Karen Briggs, who loves being a part of the Berks Jazz Fest. You will hear her in Gerald Veasley’s late night jams and in the exciting Special EFX All-Star show.
Karen Briggs also will be part of the incredible cast of female jazz performers in Chris “Big Dog” Davis’ “Celebrating the Women in Jazz” show.
Karen reflects on performing around the world, the universal language of music and the peace building and synergy that is a part of it.

Diane Dayton: Gerald Veasley Interview
It was my pleasure to speak with Gerald as we look ahead to BJF22.
We discuss Gerald’s great pre-show and Late Night Jams, the wonderful educational aspect at the fest, the dynamic Special EFX show, a Salute to Nico and reflections on our dear friend Nick Colionne, and the meaningful connection and community that is at the heart of Berks Jazz Fest!

Diane Dayton: Brian Bromberg Interview
I totally enjoy catching up with Brian Bromberg — I never know where the conversation may go!  Brian talked about the spontaneous fun of the weekend Gerald Veasley Jams and the fantastic Chuck Loeb Memorial All-Star Jam on Thursday. We are excited about the Anniversary Celebration Concert with a tribute to Nick Colionne on Friday. Brian shared cherished moments with our beloved Nick.
