Berks Jazz Fest headliners Samara Joy, The Manhattan Transfer, Gerald Albright nominated for Grammy Awards
The nominations for the 65th annual Grammy Awards have been announced.
Three artists – Samara Joy, The Manhattan Transfer, and Gerald Albright – who are headline performers during the 32nd annual Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest received coveted nominations.
Samara Joy
The young vocalist, who has taken the jazz world by storm, received nominations in two categories – Best New Artist and Best Jazz Vocal Album for her latest CD “Linger Awhile.”
Joy’s performance during the Berks Jazz Fest is set for Sunday, April 2, 3:00 p.m. at the Miller Center for the Arts.
The Manhattan Transfer
The legendary vocal group, celebrating its 50th Anniversary and currently on its Final World Tour, was nominated in the Best Jazz Vocal Album for its latest release “FIFTY,” a collaboration with the WDR Funkhausorchester.
The Manhattan Transfer have won 10 Grammys during their extraordinary career.
TMT’s performance during the Berks Jazz Fest is set for Saturday, March 25, 6:00 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Cathedral.
Gerald Albright
The saxophonist’s nomination was in the Best Improvised Solo on the song Keep Holding On.
Gerald was a special guest on Hank Bilal’s CD “The Black Aquarius,” which featured Albright’s performance on Keep Holding On.
Albright’s performance during the Berks Jazz Fest is set for Saturday, March 25, 1:00 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading Grand Ballroom.
Grammy Awards ceremony will be held in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
Show will be broadcast on CBS network and streamed live on Paramount+.
