Medical issue forces Rick Vito to cancel Berks Jazz Fest performance

Rick Vito’s performance during the 33rd annual Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest has been canceled.

The Grammy-nominated guitarist was scheduled to perform Saturday, April 13, 4:30 p.m., at the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading Small Ballroom.

“Due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, I am very disappointed to share that I will be unable to perform at the Berks Jazz Fest,” said Vito. “I’m looking forward to returning to the area soon and wish you all the very best.”

Vito’s performance was to be part of Reading Blues Fest Day that will feature performances by Craig Thatcher & Friends: Eric Clapton Retrospective (12:30 p.m.) and Danielle Nicole Band (8:00 p.m.)

Vito, who attended Kutztown College in the 1970s, has had an exceptional presence in the music industry since the 1970s, having worked as a solo artist, songwriter, producer, session musician, and as a member of the bands of John Mayall, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Seger, and many other blues and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame artists.

He is best known as a member of Fleetwood Mac from 1987 to 1991, as the frontman for the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band, for his iconic solo on Bob Seger’s “Like A Rock,” and his many outstanding solo performances.

Individuals who have already purchased single concert tickets to this performance will have the choice to receive a full refund, or a credit to attend the Craig Thatcher performance or the Danielle Nicole performance on the same date, in the same venue.

Individuals who have already purchased the Reading Blues Fest Day 3-concert package will automatically receive a prorated refund on the credit card used for purchase, to be applied within the next two weeks.
