A Night With
Santander Performing Arts Center
Tickets: $69, $59, $49 (Reserved Seating)

Brian Culbertson, a whiz on piano, synthesizer and trombone, has appeared many times at Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest over the years, often providing the grand finale to the festival. He will be performing at the festival on Sunday, April 3 in the Santander Performing Arts Center. Also featured will be saxophonist Marcus Anderson and his band.

Since creating his first CD during his studies at DePaul University in Chicago, resulting in his first record deal in 1994 (“Long Night Out’’), Culbertson has created 23 albums of contemporary jazz, funk, gospel, pop, blues, R&B and more. He founded the Napa Valley and Chicago Jazz Getaways, annual festivals that he continues to curate.

During the COVID-19 epidemic, he began hosting “The Hangout,” small online gatherings of fans, which stimulated him to record “XX” (2020), “Music From The Hang” (2020), “Soundscapes” (2021), and “The Trilogy—Part 1: Red = Passion” (2021), the first of three albums to be called “Blue = Melancholy” and “White = Hope.”

The completed set will be his takeaway from a  difficult period in American history.
