Since the guitar is at the center of most American roots genres, Craig Thatcher and Mike Guldin’s Guitar Summit, on Friday, April 8 in the DoubleTree by Hilton Reading Club ECP during Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest, will be a must-see event for blues fans.

Both guitarists are based in the Lehigh Valley, and will be performing with guitarist/keyboardist Tim Hooper, drummer Billy Wear, bassist Bill Sharrow and saxophonist Peter Fluck.

Thatcher, an International Clinician/Ambassador for the famed Martin Guitar company in Nazareth, has performed with his band in 35 countries and nearly all the United States. They are known for tribute concerts to Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, George Harrison, the Allman Brothers and Cream. Thatcher also performs as a duo with violinist Nyke Van Wyk, and the two run group tours to Ireland, Scotland and Italy.

Guitarist/vocalist Guldin performs blues, R&B, country and rock with his band, Rollin’ and Tumblin.’ They are two-time finalists in the International Blues Challenge. Hooper and Wear are regular members of the band. Guldin honed his skills in 40 years of playing in roadhouses, clubs and bars, and has shared the stage with artists like Delbert McClinton, Levon Helm, Shemekia Copeland, John Sebastian and many others.
