The Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest has a strong commitment to musical education, leaving a legacy to the next generation through its Get JazzED program.

Get JazzED Day incorporates performances by student musicians, education and clinics.

The Doc Mulligan Get JazzED Day features the Middle School Big Band Festival at 1 p.m. and the High School Big Band Festival at 6 p.m.at the Miller Center for the Arts.

Get JazzED Day is named in honor of Doc Mulligan, whose trombone playing and skillfully arranged charts have been a fixture in the Berks County musical world for many years and who was the inaugural winner of the Frank Scott Award that is presented annually by Berks Arts Council and was founded and is sponsored by the Jerlyn Foundation, led by Carolyn and Jerry Holleran.
