DoubleTree by Hilton Reading Small Ballroom / Jazz Cruises Stage
Tickets: $49 (General Admission)

The Toronto-based electro-jazz duo Four80East will be performing at the DoubleTree on the Jazz Cruises Stage on Sunday, April 3, along with special guests Jeff Kashiwa and JJ Sansaverino.

Keyboardist/bassist/guitarist Rob DeBoer and percussionist Tony Grace had been writing, arranging and producing for other artists on their Boomtang Records label when they decided to put out an album of their own. “The Album” (1997) was a success, and they have released nine more, most recently “Straight Round” (2020), closely followed by “Mixed Up” (remixes) in 2021.

Saxophonist Jeff Kashiwa replaced Brandon Fields when he joined The Rippingtons in 1988, and he performed and recorded with them for 11 years, releasing two solo albums (“Remember Catalina” and “Walk a Mile”) during that time. In 1999 he formed his own band, Coastal Access, and concentrated on his solo career, although he still occasionally appears as a guest with The Rippingtons.

In 2004, Kashiwa started the Sax Pack with Steve Cole and Kim Waters, and they released three albums. His latest album, “Sunrise,” was released in 2021.

Guitarist/composer/arranger JJ Sanseverino, a Berklee graduate and award-winner, plays contemporary jazz, R&B and reggae. He has released four highly acclaimed albums, most recently “Cocktails and Jazz” (2021), and one of his singles, “Style and Elegance,” was a Billboard No. 1 hit the same year.
