Gerald Veasley’s musical odyssey has taken him to the top of the contemporary music world as a bassist, bandleader, composer, producer, educator and curator. His performance as a six-string bassist has been top shelf, as his extensive body of work attests.

Veasley’s latest recording Live at SOUTH is the latest chapter of a multi-decade career of combining jazz, funk and soul genres into a tantalizing blend of earthy sophistication.

Veasley has performed with countless luminaries. Some of the musical giants Gerald has played with include Grover Washington Jr., Teddy Pendergrass, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner and Joe Zawinul of Weather Report.

Saxophonist Nelson Rangell is one of the most exciting and diverse performers in contemporary jazz. He is equally adept at soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone, as well as being a genuine virtuoso on flute and piccolo. Rangell has been described an artist of depth, a master of song, and an improviser nonpareil.

Alex Bugnon has been a prolific, energetic force on the contemporary music scene for more than two decades. A renowned pianist/composer/bandleader, Bugnon hails from the picturesque town of Montreux, Switzerland — site of the world-famous Montreux Jazz Festival. He further honed his skills at the Berklee School of Music. It was in the U.S. that his exposure to a diversity of musical styles — R&B to gospel to funk — began to shape and influence his personal sound.

Since emerging as a force in contemporary jazz in the mid-1990’s with a trademark sound captured in the title of his debut album Classical Soul, guitarist Marc Antoine has shared his joyous musical wanderlust on a discography infused with extraordinary journeys with a deep melodic flow and exotic textures.
