Blues man John Nemeth and his band will perform on Saturday, April 9 on the Jazz Cruises Stage at the DoubleTree by as part of Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest, bringing his unique vocals and blues harp playing to celebrate Reading Blues Fest Day.

Born in Idaho, Nemeth was a rock and hip hop fan until he heard the Junior Wells and Buddy Guy classic “Hoodoo Man Blues” and became a convert.

After honing his chops in local bands, he released two albums, “The Jack of Harps” (2002) and “Come and Get It” (2004), featuring Junior Watson, and he performed in Watson’s band. He moved to San Francisco in 2004 and signed with Blind Pig Records; his “Magic Touch” (2007) brought him to national attention, and his subsequent albums won him 20 BMA nominations and two Blues Blast Music awards.

He moved to Memphis in 2013, where he records at the Electraphonic studio. His “Stronger Than Strong” (2020), with his band, the Blue Dreamers, was released on Nola Blue Records of Lancaster.
