Jazz bassist Brian Bromberg grew up in a musical family in Tucson, Ariz. He started out as a drummer, beginning his professional career at age 13. After trying the cello in his school orchestra, he switched to the upright bass and was hooked for life.

Brian took music classes while still in high school at the University of Arizona, and played in the orchestra, lab band and jazz combos.

After testing out of high school, he devoted all his time to music, playing “every type of gig imaginable.” He was discovered by Bill Evans’ bassist, Marc Johnson, who connected him with the legendary saxophonist Stan Getz, and Bromberg spent nearly a year touring internationally with Getz’s quintet at age 19.

Since then he has toured, performed and recorded with too many legends to name. His debut album as a soloist was “A New Day” (1986). He has released more than 25 albums, most recently “A Little Driving Music” (2021) and “The Magic of Moonlight.”
