Joey Alexander

When Balinese pianist Joey Alexander performed at Boscov’s Berks Jazz Fest in 2018, he was a 14-year- old boy wonder.

Now, at 20, he returns, having become a full-fledged recording and performing artist with seven albums under his belt, since his phenomenal debut, “My Favorite Things,” was released in 2015, winning a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Instrumental Album.

His 2022 release, “Origin,” was the first to contain all original material, and he has recently released “Continuance.” (2023).

Alexander has been performing professionally since 2013, when Wynton Marsalis invited him to perform at the Lincoln Center Gala. Now living in New York City, he has performed with Wayne Shorter and Esperanza Spalding at the Obama White House, at Carnegie Hall, and at major jazz festivals and nightclubs internationally.

Tuck & Patti

Guitarist Tuck Andress and vocalist Patti Cathcart are celebrating 45 years of performing music as a duo with a national tour, stopping to perform here 31 years since their first gig at the second Berks Jazz Fest in 1992.

Since then, this unique married couple have become highly respected not only by their audiences, but by other musicians in many genres.

Their first album, “Tears of Joy” (1988) broke ground with genre-crossing virtuosity, and they went on to record 13 more, highlighting Cathcart’s original songs and elegant arrangements. They have toured the world, sharing stages with Miles Davis, Count Basie, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock and many more.

They play everything from rock and pop to jazz, gospel, blues, folk, world and classical, all with the goal of expressing love, hope and gratitude.
